Who we are

“Miscited”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of miscited.com. “You” means the person using the service and, if you use it for an organisation, that organisation. Miscited is for business use. If you accept these terms for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

The service

Miscited checks what AI assistants say about a company. It reads public pages on a domain, proposes facts from them, asks AI models questions about the company, and compares their answers and citations with those facts. It produces reports and, for accounts, ongoing monitoring, alerts and suggested corrections.

Early access

Miscited is in early access. Features may change or be withdrawn, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. When no AI provider is connected, audits run against a labelled stand-in and the report says so.

AI answers and our checks can be wrong

AI models write their own answers, and those answers change over time. Our checks are automated and can also be wrong: they can miss an error, flag a correct answer, misread a page or rely on a fact that has gone out of date. Results are samples, not a complete record of what any assistant says.

Treat what Miscited produces as a starting point for your own review. Verify findings, proposed facts and suggested corrections before you act on them or publish anything. Nobody controls what an external model says, and we do not promise that a correction will change an answer.

Acceptable use

Only request audits of, and monitor, brands and domains you represent or are authorised to assess. Do not:

• give a false email address or pretend to be someone else;
• scrape the service, or collect its content or results in bulk by automated means;
• overload the service, send repeated or automated requests, or try to get around rate limits or other restrictions;
• probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission;
• try to reach another customer’s data, or a report you were not given;
• add personal data about other people unless you are allowed to share it with us;
• use Miscited for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful.

We may refuse or stop an audit, or suspend access, if we believe these rules have been broken.

Your content

You keep your rights in the information you give us, such as facts, questions and settings, and you allow us to store and use it to provide the service to you. Pages we read from public websites stay their owners’ property; we keep copies as evidence for your reports.

Reports

Anyone with a report’s link can open it, so share links with care. You may use the reports we produce for you in your own business, including with your team, clients and advisers.

Fees

Miscited is currently free, including the one-time Answer Risk Audit. If we offer a paid plan, such as ongoing monitoring or a pilot, its price and terms will be agreed with you in writing before you are charged.

Our intellectual property

We own the Miscited service, including its software, design and name. These terms give you the right to use the service as described here and nothing more. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely.

Other services

The service depends on others, including AI model providers and our hosting provider. We are not responsible for their outages or changes, for what their models say, or for third-party websites that answers link to.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we give no warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or availability.

Limits on our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data. Our total liability for all claims connected with the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.

Suspension and ending

You can stop using Miscited at any time and ask us to delete your data, as our Privacy Policy explains. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we must for legal or security reasons, or if we stop offering the service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first. Terms that by their nature should continue after access ends, including the limits on liability, still apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and tell account holders about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the updated terms apply.

General

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we delay enforcing a term, we can still enforce it later. These terms, our Privacy Policy and any written agreement for a paid plan are the whole agreement between us about the service; where a written agreement conflicts with these terms, the written agreement wins.
